Teen Inspiration...A Girl's Dream Room

I owe this blog to Miss Lauren, a teen who decided she wanted to have her room painted bright pink, using black and white zebra accessories. Last week while I was out shopping for my online home boutique, Pink Door Decor, I ran across these fabulous pictures that got me to thinking how great they would look in a teens room, especially one who loves bright pink!

With the room having a pink canvas, I thought it would be great to bring in a fourth color from the picture to soften the black, white and fuchsia palette. I chose the seafoam green that is shown in the top of the tower in the picture on the right. The seafoam green is more feminine than the cobolt blue, another consideration if you wanted to bring in a fourth color. Just to tone down the pattern, I would like to use a solid comforter on the bed and a few more pillows.

 Mixing Styles Add

Interest to a Space

My goal in this room is to add a little modern style infused with traditional.  Yes, it is quite ok to mix styles. As a matter of fact, mixing styles add interest to a room.  Besides that, you don't want to make the room look "garanimal and matchy-matchy".

I love how this traditional black lacquer mirror looks with this seafoam green zebra pillow and the rest of the modern pieces in this room. Ok, this is a start to Lauren's room so far.  I still need to add some fun accessories  I want to know what you think.
Do you like the colors? Do you like the style combinations?

Talk to you later!

Inspirational Powwow by Posh Interiors, LLC

“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”

This quote by the late Henry Ford was so apropos for this weekends Summer Designer's Luncheon hosted by The America's Mart, Atlanta.  I had a fabulous time meeting new designers and sharing ideas with those whom I am already acquainted.  I was so inspired and renewed after a long in depth powwow session with the other designers. I am pictured below with one of my favorite bloggers and social media expert for designers, Rhonda E. Peterson.

The question I ask you and myself, "What Are You Doing To Get Inspired With Your Business?" I make it a habit of attending sessions to stay abreast with the latest design trends.  Attending workshops with other designers to exchange ideas is a must if you are going to survive in the industry or any industry for that matter.  I must admit that writing this blog has also helped me stay motivated.

My weekend at the market did allow me to find some nifty new home accessories.  I am going to keep you salivating until my next blog!
