Atlanta News Anchor Gets Home Styled By Designer Terrell Dinkins

You would be amazed at the look you can create with what you already have in your home.  Starting with an empty space makes it a little easier because you tend  to use less. I believe that less is more.  My personal design style is pretty clutter free.

Before you go out and buy a house full of new furniture in your new place, work with a designer and restyle your space using what you have. That's exactly what I did for my dear friend Jovita Moore, who is an Atlanta News Anchor.  She had just moved in a beautiful new home and needed my help deciding on where to place all of her accessories and wall art.

Unfortunately when you move, sometimes you cannot use all of your former pieces.  In the case of Jovita's new family room, we had to eliminate a component of her large leather sectional sofa to create a less cluttered and tight space.  We also sorted through several pieces of art she had accumulated to come up with just the right look and feel for what she now calls one of her favorite rooms in her home. Instead of buying new accessories for her bookshelf, we filled it with a few books from her large collection.  Mixing the books with a few family photos and accessories made for a nice looking bookshelf

The final look encompassed some of Jovita's favorite things and colors (family photos, the color red, books, one of her Emmys and a relaxing atmosphere).

Restyle and rearrange your own place. Empty it out and start fresh.  You will be amazed at how cozy your place will be with less. Don't be afraid to be create with books. Books are great for decorating. I would love to see your before and after rearranged room.

Until Next Time,
XO
